Community Engagement
Sikh Volunteers Australia (SVA) takes pride in sharing our organisational goals and values with the wider Australian community. SVA has been approached many times by schools, colleges, social/cultural and corporate organisations to provide a Guest Speaker to provide insight knowledge of the Sikh way of life and Sikh Volunteer’s Free Food Services.
We are happy to share that SVA is able to facilitate community engagements by providing a Guest Speaker, who can be approached by interested institutions. This service will be free of charge.

Sharing insights to Sikh Religion and Culture
14 Mar 2022 – Last Month, Sikh Volunteers Australia received an extraordinarily gracious invitation to speak at Mary Immaculate Catholic Girls Secondary College (Fitzroy). With deep humility, the guest speaker of Sikh Volunteers Australia spoke about the services of SVA and shared insight into the Sikh religion and Culture. The keenness and enthusiasm to participate in a dialogue related to multiculturalism shown by young year nine Australians is truly commendable. SVA wishes everyone all the very best for future endeavours.

Developing Community Services
Feb 2022 – Victoria Police and Sikh Volunteers Australia had a meeting this week to discuss the possibilities of developing community services at Sikh Volunteers Australia, Langwarrin. Sargent Brendan Michael and officer Nicky Turner listened to the SVA project plans. They ensured ongoing support and resources in the form of Information and networking to establish a place that will serve the communities in the area.
